“Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” are among the most well-known phrases from the U.S. Declaration of Independence. The Founding Fathers asserted that these are unalienable rights bestowed upon all people by their Creator and that governments are established to protect those rights. The United States is a democratic capitalist system, often described as a capitalist democracy, in which a market-based economy is intended to flourish within a framework of democratic governance. However, this system, despite having withstood the test of time, is clearly no longer functioning as intended and requires a fundamental reset or a new beginning.
Cooperative Socio-Capitalism (CSC), or Socio-Capitalistic Democracy, may sound oxymoronic. Its underlying conception differs significantly from that of a traditional capitalist democracy. While it is often difficult for a nation to change its system of governance, the ideas and mechanisms presented here suggest that transitioning from our current capitalist democracy to a truly people-driven Cooperative Socio-Capitalistic system may be more achievable than it first appears.
The ultimate goal is to achieve the ideals upon which our nation was founded: equality, freedom, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. This vision can be realized through democratic elections and active civic participation that transform our rural communities, cities, counties, and states into peaceful, productive, and self-sustaining communities. By fostering cooperative social frameworks that serve the interests of all people, we can create a society that balances individual opportunity with collective well-being.
More than 250 years ago, our nation embarked on a bold experiment in self-governance. Guided by the lessons we have learned throughout that journey, the time has come to renew and redesign our governing architecture to meet the challenges of a new era. Doing so can pave the way for greater prosperity, stronger civic engagement, and a more inclusive democracy, helping to make America truly great again (MARGA) while continuing to advance its highest ideals and aspirations.

What is DSC?
Elements of DSC

Transformation to DSC
Moving from Capitalism to DSC is extremely challenging

Transparency In Lobbying
Lobbying purpose, fees and ultimate beneficiary to be disclosed

SCOTUS No Longer Supreme
When Supreme Court rulings are biased, it loses it Supremacy

“Laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths disclosed, and manners and opinions change with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also, and keep pace with the times…”
-Thomas Jefferson
While the above narratives introduced the concept of DSC (Democratic Socio Capitalism), and its use as a method to fix issues such as lobbying and supreme court nominations and reform, there are still several issues that need to be remedied in the systems of governance and day-to-day functioning of organizations at the federal and state levels. Some of the more important and pressing issues for our democracy are: setting up non-partisan national elections board to administer federal and state elections; election of the president; doing away with filibusters; and, secret ballot on all bills in the house and senate. We shall examine these four issues next.

”The liberty of a democracy is not safe if people tolerated growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. This in its essence is fascism.”
– Franklin D. Roosevelt

National Elections Board
A federal-state independent regulatory elections board

Electing The President
No electoral college, election of POTUS needs to be direct.

No More Filibusters
Filibustering as a tool to stymie progress needs to be abolished.

Secret Ballot – House & Senate
“We the people” vote by secret ballot. Why not senators and house members?

No Redistricting, No Gerrymandering
Redistricting may never be needed if we follow a simple non-partisan method.
